About the song: A grand metaphor for making sure you know where you’re going, what you’re doing, and why you’re doing it. I’m pretty much singing this for myself. My big brother really likes this song. Also I know serpents don’t have hands. So anyway.
Applause of the Serpents, Buzzards, and Bees
If you go on the one-way path
If you go and never come back
The leaves of the trees will mourn as you pass
And the serpents, buzzards, and bees will clap their hands.
The horses of the field say, “Take your time.
We don’t care who can run the fastest mile.”
Thing’s you’ll find always fall in line
Sometimes it only takes a while.
The sun and moon say, “Watch your step
We’ll shade and we’ll light your path.”
Beware the field of the greener grass
This vibrancy isn’t bound to last
And the darkness of the forest will swallow you whole
And the tangles and the snares of the brush will cut your clothes
And change you until you don’t know who you were before
And spin you until you don’t know where to go anymore
If you go on the one way path
If you go and can’t find your way home again
The leaves of the trees will mourn as you pass
And the serpents, buzzards, and bees will clap their hands.

I think my favorite thing about this are the haunting bits.
