Sight of You Again

On the shore feeling hollow
With my gaze pulled out with the tide’s tow
I am gasping for breath and it’s coming in shallow gulps
Can you see me?
Waiting for you on unsteady feet
Clinging only to every uncertainty I know

Will you come?
I am numb waiting on the sight of you again

Autumn brings me no solace
Just the slow aching promise
Of the cold creeping on us yet to come
As I stand here in the sea
With the lighthouse out behind me
Beckoning for you to come back home to me

Will you come?
I am numb waiting on the sight of you again
Winter’s frozen me to the bones
Will you come home so I can be warm again?
